Muckross Traditional Farms

At Muckross Traditional Farms, visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk through a living history experience that brings Ireland’s rural past vividly to life. The attraction showcases traditional farming practices, skills and customs that were once central to everyday life in the countryside.

The farms comprise three fully working holdings, representing small, medium and large farms. Each is complete with animals, poultry and traditional farm machinery, offering an authentic insight into farming life of the past.

In addition to the farms themselves, visitors can explore a traditional labourer’s cottage, a carpenter’s workshop and a blacksmith’s forge. Throughout the experience, costumed guides portray farmers and their families, allowing guests to observe and learn about daily life, household tasks and agricultural work as it would have been carried out generations ago.

A highlight of the visit is the vintage coach journey, which operates on-site and adds an extra layer of charm while providing an easy way to move around the attraction.
